How to Set up and Control Nest Smart Thermostats Using Amazon Echo

Most of you know that the Nest Thermostat is capable of learning things from you and will do it so you won't need to touch it, but sometimes it is good to speak and get things done. So you can follow the below mentioned steps to add Nest learning thermostat to your Alexa device.

Step #1: Launch the Alexa App on your iOS or Android device.

Step #2: Tap on the Menu button and Choose Smart Home option from the list.

Step #3: Move down until you find Get More Smart Home Skill and top on the arrow icon.

Step #4: Now, enter "Nest" in the search box and tap on the result which has Nest logo.

Step #5: Next, enable Skill and Login to your Nest account.

Step #6: Atlast, choose Accept.

Once you're done setting up Nest Thermostat with Echo device, you can easily control your thermostat by giving voice commands to your Echo device. You can find voice commands to set and adjust the temperature in the Nest App.

For Eg:

you can say

"Alexa set (your thermostat name) to 60."

"Alexa raise the (your thermostat name) by 5 degree."

If your Nest thermostat is set to Away, Auto-Away or off then you won't be able to control it using your voice command. Also, you won't have any voice control if Emergency Heat or Emergency Shutoff modes are active.
